A Dallas traffic reporter is receiving a great deal of support after viewers criticized the way she looks.
Demetria Obilor is the newest edition to the WFFA Channel 8 team, and unfortunately she was welcomed with a great deal of hate.
Obilor just so happens to be a woman of color, she has curly hair, and a curvy build.
She hasn’t even been working at the Dallas station a month, and she already has viewers criticizing everything from her”inappropriate” style of dress to her curly hair.
Once people on social media caught wind of what was going on, Demetria got a swell of support from people all over. Chance the Rapper even tweeted in support of the reporter.
Demetria has since posted a video on her personal social media pages responding to all the drama with one simple message, “I’m not going anywhere.”
Since then, even more news reporters, musicians, colleagues, etc. have voiced their support and some have even shared their body shaming experiences.
Kudos to Demetria for standing strong and continuing to be herself.
At the end of the day, some people are curvier than others, so clothes will look differently on them.
Some people have curvy hair. That’s just how it grows out of their head.
If these are things you don’t like on a person, get over it!
