If you’ve been on social media lately, you may have seen the “Me Too” statuses.
Here’s the back story.
Harvey Weinstein is the co-founder of Miramax Films and the Weinstein Company. He’s a very powerful Hollywood mogul who is accused of sexually assaulting women for decades.
News broke some weeks back when The New York Times published an article exposing Harvey’s history of sexual harassment, intimidation, and even rape.
Since then, a number of women and men have come out to tell their story. Actor Terry Crews was one of them
As expected, both social media criticism and comradery came from this.
Alyssa Milano spoke on the issue, and then she put her friend’s idea in to action to show that sexual harassment and assault is way too common.
Well, turns out that she was right. The “me too” statuses have gone viral, and they just keep coming, showing the magnitude of the issue.
I even posted one. Yep, it happened to me too back in New York.
If you’ve been sexually harassed or assaulted, know it’s not your fault.
