It was only 16 months ago that the new rang of tragedy in our own backyard here in Orlando, Florida. News that 49 people died at the hands of a gunman in the nightclub so many loved called PULSE. Waking up to the news of the Las Vegas shootings naturally can bring up much anxiety for many here in Orlando.

Here is where you and your loved ones can get help should you need it:

Orlando United Assistance Center: Pulse survivors, victims’ family members and others affected by the tragedy can speak with someone by calling OUAC at 407-500-HOPE.

Orlando United Counseling: The Mental Health Association of Central Florida provides confidential counseling to anyone impacted free of charge. Services are available in English and Spanish 407-898-0110.

The Center: The organization for the LGBTQ community is offering counselors to speak with anyone affected by Las Vegas. Call 888-773-1665 or stop by the location at 946 N. Mills Ave., Orlando.

Proyecto Somos Orlando: If you need a safe space you can see a counselor you can visit between the hours 9am and 5pm throughout the week. Call 407-270-0597 or visit the organization in person at 6900 S. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando.

Zebra Coalition: Feel free to drop by the Zebra Coalition at 911 N. Mills Ave., Orlando, to talk to someone or call 407-228-1446.

Two Spirit Health Services: Two Spirit is opening their doors to those who need counseling after the Las Vegas shooting. Mental health professionals are on standby. Call 407-487-9868 to make an appointment of feel free to walk in to the Two Spirit center located at 801 N Magnolia Ave., Orlando.

If you feel the need to be with other people and do not want to be alone, the One Orlando Alliance is hosting a vigil for Las Vegas today, Oct 3, at 6pm at the Dr. Phillips Center’s Seneff Arts Plaza to “show solidarity with all those affected by this senseless tragedy.”
