One of the hardest things about my job is figuring out what to say in the wake of tragedy.
As a radio personality you feel a certain unspoken pressure to bring comfort, speak from the heart and say the right thing at the right time.
When it comes to hurricanes and natural disasters, you want to get potential life saving information out to the people, but you also want to a be a voice of comfort and familiarity.
When it comes to mass shootings, and senseless violence, I honestly don’t know what to say. When Pulse happened, I was speechless, and now with what’s going on in Vegas, I honestly feel like I have run out of words.
What can I possibly say to comfort a person who just lost their best friend, or family member?
What can I possibly say to bring comfort and understanding to a united, but extremely divided nation?
What can I possibly say to ease the minds of those traumatized from being bombarded with images of suffering and graphic violence via social media?
When will enough be enough and we finally learn to spread love instead of hateful rhetoric?
Sadly it seems that this is the world we live in , but I still have faith that if enough of us on the side of love band together and stand with each other, we can stamp out hate once in for all.
Until then, I love you, and I’m continuing to pray for you.
I'm seriously wondering how much we can take. Everyday I wake up to destruction, devastation, senseless violence, confusion… Is enough not enough already? How many people have to die until we realize that we all deserve the right to treated equally, that #hate does nothing but bring us down, and that #love is the vehicle to true happiness. #PrayersForVegas…
