Orlando Weekly reports that UCF will be honoring two victims from the Pulse massacre that were a part of the UCF family: Christopher “Drew” Leinonen and his partner, Juan Ramon Guerrero.

Leinonen received his bachelor’s and master’s in psychology and Guerrero was a pre-finance student when he passed.

According to a release, UCF will be installing a mural of them in the Student Union to “honor them and to serve as a tribute to the spirit of love and hope that united UCF and the community in the aftermath of Pulse.” The mural was created with the victim’s family.

Today, June 8 is “UCF Remembers Day” and here’s a list of the events taking place at UCF all day:

  • “Reflections on Pulse” at the Student Union from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where you can create and share a tribute to the 49 victims.
  • “UCF Remembers” at the Student Union from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the blood drive.

  • “Resilience: Remembering Pulse” at the UCF Art Gallery from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. where the exhibition will feature paintings, photos and more to honor Pulse victims and the LGBTQ community.
    • This exhibition will run until June 30.

The UCF events are free and open to everyone and some events will be live-streamed on their Facebook page.
