A new survey by Mecca Bingo┬áreveals the top 10 moments that are the most superstitious. Although there’s many people that don’t believe in the superstitions of Friday the 13th, it seems that they’re deeply rooted in the British psyche.

Did you know 80% of the people that reside in the UK admit to being superstitious?

Fun Fact: The day that’s considered to bring you bad luck goes back to the story of Easter, when Jesus and the disciples sat 13 at the Last Supper.

Here are some of the top moments that people are the most superstitious:

  • When buying a scratch off (12%)
  • When taking an exam (14%)
  • When looking for a new job (9%)
  • When playing games or sports (7%)
  • When taking a driving test (5%)

Here are some of the top lucky rituals that can apparently ward off the bad luck:

  • Touching wood (35%)
  • Wearing lucky pants and lucky socks (36%)
  • Lucky coins (23%)
  • Keeping your fingers crossed (22%)

Try to stay clear of breaking any mirrors, walking under ladders, stepping on cracks and opening umbrella’s indoor.

Plus, more fears and signs of bad luck are spilling salt and placing shoes on the table or on the bed.
