Kid Ink is riding high with his latest single “Bad Ass,” featuring Meek Mill and Wale. While the kid with GRAMMY dreams was not eligible for this year’s GRAMMY consideration, he offered a few predictions on the big winners in hip-hop.

“It would be such a big look if 2 Chainz won [for Best Rap Album],” he told Radio.com. “It is a different sound that people weren’t ready to hit the GRAMMYs…You look at the titles of the records, the lifestyle. You don’t always expect other people to respect that. It would open lanes for other GRAMMY nominees who thought they would never reach this kind of audience. That would be kinda cool.”

Kid is aware that 2 Chainz’s Based on a T.R.U. Story is up against tough competition for Best Rap Album. Nas (Life Is Good) appeals to rap puritans, Rick Ross (God Forgives, I Don’t) speaks to today’s street-rap fans, Lupe Fiasco (Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album, Pt. 1) is admired by rap’s radical set and the Roots (Undun) owns the hipster-hop vote.

Along with those artists and their works, Drake‘s Take Care commands respect from hip-hop fans of all stripes.

“Now, who do I think will win? Drake had a great year this year and last year,” Kid Ink said. “Out of all those albums, I would say that Drake had some big singles on that album compared to some of the others.”

Who do you think will take home the Best Rap Album GRAMMY? Fill out your own GRAMMY ballot for the Award Show Challenge.

To find out who will take home the prize, tune in to the GRAMMYs on CBS, February 10 at 8PM EST/PST.
