The 2012 presidential election has struck a chord with all entertainers. But this election, rappers have been vocal about who should take the top office for the next four years. And T.I. is the latest to express his thoughts on the vote.

In a recent Twitter battle between Chicago Rapper Lupe Fiasco and Comedian D.L. Hughley, the funnyman was outraged that Lupe promoted anti-voting views.

But the tweets really got heated when Lupe said rappers shouldn’t “kiss a**” for President Obama in an effort to get him to win the 2012 election.

What does T.I. think about other rappers’ blind support of political figures?

“I don’t kiss nobody’s a**. I don’t care who you is,” T.I. told 92.3 NOW/NYC

According to the Atlanta native there is a difference between fully believing in something or someone – as everyone is entitled to expressing their own opinions – and just plain kissing up because that is what is publicly accepted.

“If you really don’t feel like this or you really don’t know anything about what you’re saying and you’re just speaking out your neck – as my grandmama used to say – I think that’s kissing a**, man,” T.I. said. “But if you really support this man and his policies and procedures than you have every right to support him, publicly or privately.”

This certainly isn’t the first political race in which hip-hop artists have gotten involved. Back in 2008, Diddy endorsed the Rock the Vote campaign as a way to educate and engage young people in the political-sphere. Or Jay-Z’s recent $4 million fundraiser for President Obama at his 40/40 club in NYC.

Another actor who is getting involved in the 2012 election is Samuel L. Jackson with his campaign Wake the F*** Up, also in support of President Obama.

“Wow, classy. That ought to cover a lot of ground; make some headway. That’ll shake em up,” said T.I. shocked by the campaign’s name. -Maria Bonello, 92.3 NOW/NYC
