50 Cent has elbowed his way into the fight game. The outspoken rap superstar has founded his own boxing promotions company.

His new TMT (The Money Team) Promotions has already been granted a New York license and according to Nevada state athletic commissioner Keith Kizer, the rapper is currently applying for a license in the Silver State.

Of course, 50 Cent is already on solid boxing ground. The Queens, New York entertainment mogul is good friends with current middleweight boxing champ Floyd Mayweather. According to SI.com, TMT may work with the currently incarcerated fighter. And there is chatter that the company is set to sign former featherweight champ Yuri Gamboa as well as super middleweight contender Andre Dirrell.

It was last April during a press conference to promote his match against Miguel Cotto when Mayweather implied that 50 Cent would have a bigger presence in the sweet science.

“I think he’s going to be involved on the promotion side,” said Mayweather. “We may even put him out there, let him fight on pay-per-view one time. So we don’t really know what the future holds, but he is getting involved with boxing.”

But 50 Cent isn’t leaving behind his day job. He just recently dropped the 10-song set 5 (Murder By Numbers) free of charge. He is scheduled to release his next official studio album Street King Immortal in November. —Keith Murphy, CBS Local
